Visit of Queen Elizabeth to Portree, Isle of Skye

In 1954 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh visited this house during their tour of the Isle of Skye and the Western Isles.  They sailed as far as Kyle on the royal yacht Britannia and then came to Portree by road.  After visiting here the royal party went on to Dunvegan Castle where they had strawberries and cream with Dame Flora MacLeod.
